These walkers are designed to make walking less energy consuming, improve postural alignment, and maximize the potential for walking. By placing the support behind the users, clients are better able to coordinate rhythm and timing of swing and stance phases of gait when impaired balance prevents independent walking.
This position also allows the elbows to be slightly behind the midline of the body and aids thoracic extension and scapular adduction for straighter and more upright posture. In addition, the latex-free handgrips with flanged ends adjust from horizontal to vertical to accommodate supination or pronation, and help align users’ arms and hands comfortably at their sides as weight is taken on extended arms.
The various wheel configurations provide options for various users in assorted environments! To select the correct walker size, measure the user from the floor to mid-buttock. This distance should fall within the “Height-to Handle Top” range.
